New Sub-Zero Kinematic Viscometer
The operator interface is a touch screen

The RHEOTEK JETVISC has won wide acclaim, since it was introduced to the Petroleum Industry in late 2008. Refineries in the Americas and the Far East have been the first to embrace the technology.

Development of the RHEOTEK JETVISC started in July
2007 in response to industry demand for a timely solution to determining the kinematic viscosity of Aviation Fuel. Initial testing on the instrument has proved
very promising, producing results with a precision exceeding the requirements specified in ASTM D445.

Results are printed out on the built in thermal printerTime Saving

A typical manual test of the kinematic viscosity of aviation fuel takes between one and two hours to complete. It is a labour intensive and time consuming test, which is difficult to reproduce. The procedure for using the RHEOTEK JETVISC is much simpler:
  • Pour in 12 ml of sample,
  • Type in the sample ID on the touch screen
  • Press Start
  • 20-30 minutes later the result is printed

Full complianceAt the heart of the RHEOTEK JETVISC is a standard ASTM Ubbelohde Glass Capillary Viscometer

The RHEOTEK JETVISC is designed to automate every step of the procedure for sub zero viscosity measurement as detailed in ASTM D445. The instrument therefore offers full compliance with ASTM D445/ISO 3104 rendering the results allowable for international aviation fuel specifications.

  • Standard ASTM Ubbelohde Glass capillary Viscometer
  • Temperature controlled to  +/- 0.01 degrees Celsius

All steps of the method are adhered to, including the drawing up of the sample prior to lowering the temperature. This procedure prevents the capillary from icing up.
Furthermore, the precision of results from the RHEOTEK JETVISC is better (i. e. display less statistical variability) than the precion of manual results.

Automatic cleaning

On completion of the flow time determination, the glass capillary viscometer is cleaned and dried in situ, enabling testing to continue without delay.

Dry air

In order to ensure that the air within the viscometer is dry, the RHEOTEK JETVISC uses a desiccant drying system.

Highly ServiceableThe detachable side panel offers easy access

The RHEOTEK JETVISC has been designed with long
term high performance in mind. An essential part of this is regular service and maintenance.
  • Detachable side panel for easy access

  • "Black box" for intelligent trouble shooting
